GOSHEN CONSERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES – REGULAR MEETING 10/1/2008
CALL TO ORDER: Chairman John Ross called the meeting to order at 7:45 P.M.
ATTENDANCE: John Ross, Joan M. Lang, Barnett Laschever and Audra Allen
Excused absence, Anders Nygren and Barry Donaldson. Absent Chris Marino
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes of the August 6, 2008 Conservation Meeting were presented for approval. MOTION MADE BY Barnett Laschever seconded by Audra Allen to approve said minutes as presented. No discussion, SO VOTED.
OLD BUSINESS:
Trail Update- Any walking to check on the trail conditions would be done in the spring of 2009.
Goshen Scenic Areas & Trails Brochure- Due to other conflicting duties, Barnett Laschever has not had time to do the work needed to complete the final draft copy of the brochure. Barnett Laschever stated that he would work to try to have it done by October 26 submission date for articles for the Town Topics.
Town Hall Perennial Bed Work – On two separate Sundays, John Ross and Anders Nygren worked on the perennial beds to weed, edge and spread 8 bags of mulch around the plantings. Donna Grenier had helped with the dead heading of the perennials The roots of one of the trees on the lawn were exposed and the turf taken from the edging of the perennial bed was placed around the tree.
Deisgnation of open space corridors: No work was done on that matter at this meeting.
NEW BUSINESS: Discussed briefly was the planting of another tree to replace the one that died near the entrance to the Town Hall parking lot. No action was taken on the matter.
CORRESPONDENCE: Received from the Administrative office was the notification of the State mandated Public Act No. 08-3 relative to the need to now file and electronic copy as well as a hard copy when filing the minutes and agenda of any meeting with the Town Clerk. Said requirement became effective October 1, 2008. Goshen Town Topics: Notice was received noting the deadline of October 26th for getting any articles or information any Boards or Commissions might want to appear in the Town Topics
There was no other business proper to come before said meeting. A MOTION TO ADJOURN MADE BY Joan M. Lang, seconded by Audra Allen. The meeting adjourned at 8:05 P.M.
