GOSHEN CONSERVATION COMMISSION
MINUTES REGULAR MEETING
MAY 6, 2009
Call to order: Chairman John Ross called the meeting to order at 7:33 P.M/
Attendance: John Ross, Joan M. Lang, Barry Donaldson, Barnett Laschever, Anders Nygren and Chris Marion. Excused absence Audra Allen.
Approval of Minutes: MOTION MADE BY Barnett Laschever seconded by Anders Nygren to approve the minutes of the April 1, 2009 Meeting. Discussed under the minutes was the Regional Planning Collaboration and its purpose. There was no other discussion and the minutes WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED.
Old Business: Trail Maintenance Update – The Commision members were reminded of the date of Saturday, May 9, 9:30 A.M. cleanup date of the North Goshen Water Company Trail. All who could make it would meet at the North Entrance of the trail. Chris Allen and Barry Donaldson would bring their chainsaws. No rain date was set.
Goshen Scenic areas and Trail Brochure: No work was done on the Brochure. Barnet t Laschever will be contacting John Ross to set up a date to work on the final layout of the brochure.
Discussed again was what the Commission could do toward identification of any parcels of land in Goshen that could be identified and listed as potential continuous corridors of land for conservation and preservation. For the benefit of the Commission Members who were unable to attend the April Meeting, the maps presented to the Commission by Timothy Abbott and Mark Brown were again reviewed by the Commission members.
Also discussed was working with the Town Assessor Maps and identify the parcels under consideration using the parcel identification numbers as they appear on the Goshen Assessor Maps. Barry Donaldson noted the similar work being done by the Goshen Land Trust in establishing a list of properties of interest and it was suggested that the Goshen Land Trust and Commission could collaborate on the project.
There was no other business proper to come before said meeting. A MOTION TO ADJOURN WAS MADE BY Barnett Laschever seconded by Anders Nygren. The meeting adjourned at 8:32 P.M
