OLD BUSINESS: Trail Maintenance – Barry Donaldson reported that the Goshen Land Trust had walked and cleared the Pie Hill/East Street Hiking Trail in the spring. It was noted that to date, the Boardwalk has not been installed. Anders Nygren noted that the marking of the yellow town trail need to be re done, that he had the spray paint and would be willing to re mark the trail. John Ross offered to walk it with him and also check the Richard Koblyenski Memorial site to see if it has been maintained and if not, would trim the area.
John Ross reported that First Selectman Robert Valentine had informed John Ross of the Towing doing some work relative to the removal of the Spreading yews in the front of the Town Hall and if the Conservation Commissions had no objections, they would like to take down the two flowering hawthorn trees as well. The Commission Members present had no objection to their removal. Discussed was the maintenance of the Perennial bed and Anders Nygren would contact Donna Grenier relative to giving her assistance if needed for the care of the beds.
Goshen Scenic and Trail Brochure: any work on the brochure remains on hold at this time. John Ross is still waiting to hear from Barnett Laschever so they can work out the final format, get it on a disk and have it ready for printing when funds become available.

Relative to the funding for the printing of the brochure, it was suggested that once we have a price for the printing of the brochure, that is allowed, the Conservation Commission could submit an article to the Town Topics about the brochure and let the Town People know that donations would be accepted toward the publication expense.
Identification of continuous corridors of land for Conservation and preservation within the Town of Goshen – Discussed was the cooperative work between the Woodridge lake Property Owners Association, the Town of Goshen and the North West Conservation of Torrington putting the mapping of the town in a digital format. There was no information at this time relative to the status of the project. Putting the maps of the Town in digital format would be a major benefit for the Assessor’s Office as well as other town departments.
A brief review of the 2006 Plan Implementation and the responsibility for the implementation of some of the plans showed that the Commission has completed or has gone as far as they can go the listed plan section.
There was no other business to come before said meeting. A MOTION TO ADJOURN WAS MADE BY Barry Donaldson and seconded by Anders Nygren. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 P.M. Reporter Henry Moore met briefly after the meeting to discuss the writing of an article on the Commission’s Scenic Trail and Map Brochure Project for the Torrington Register.
Respectfully submitted,
