Minutes of Board of Directors Meeting
March 17, 2009
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 2:30 P.M.
PRESENT: Barney Laschever, Jeff Johnson, Diana Bernard, Lynn Steinmayer, Pat Reilly, and via conference call Henrietta Horvay Excused: Cathy Nygren.
SECRETARY’S MINUTES: Motion to accept minutes of February 17, 2009 as amended by Jeff Johnson seconded by Pat Reilly. Amended to say B/W copies .15 for student work not .10 as per minutes.. Motion passed by all present. Motion to accept special meeting minutes of February 27, 2009 by Jeff Johnson and seconded by Pat Reilly. Motion passed by all present.
CORRESPONDENCE: Jeff Johnson received a letter from Ann Kelly, President, Friends of the Goshen Public Library.( Discuss with budget.)
DIRECTOR'S REPORT: Lynn Steinmayer reviewed her report (attached).
Lynn was asked about the State Grants and other various Grants that the library will be receiving. Lynn spoke about various organization working together to do cooperative programs, the Recreation Dept. Susan Leigh, Hospice, and Carol Aldrich. Lynn spoke about the various programs for February. Members asked what staff employee did the program and Lynn will add this to next month’s report. Discussion followed in reference to the total circulation and checkout activity. Lynn will check into both of these areas. Board likes old format statistics and the new format of actual circulation.
Motion to accept the report by Henrietta Horvay and seconded by Diana Bernard. Motion passed by all present.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT Barney received an e-mail from Mark Twain House that they have started an outreach program. Listing of organizations that have used the service, Goshen Public Library on the top of list.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Jeff Johnson submitted his report for the month.(attached). Discussion about Budget followed. Each line item was discussed After lengthily discussion, it was decided to adopt budget. The library will close 2 hours early on Monday and Tuesday evening. Hours will be the same Monday through Friday 10:00 A.M. To 6:00 P.M. and opened on Saturday. Motion made by Jeff Johnson and seconded by Henrietta Horvay to accept the presented budget and submit to the First Selectmen’s office. Motion passed by all present.
OLD BUSINESS: Wine tasting. All is go, need to get tickets and flyers done. Diana Bernard asked about the Poetry. Lynn will get together with her.
ADJOURNMENT: Meeting adjourned at 3:59 P.M. Motion made by Barney Laschever and seconded by Jeff Johnson. Motion passed by all present.
