Minutes of Board of Directors Meeting

April 21, 2009

 

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 2:27 P.M.

 

PRESENT: Barney Laschever, Cathy Nygren, Diana Bernard, Henrietta Horvay, Pat Reilly, and Lynn Steinmayer.   Excused: Jeff Johnson

 

DIRECTOR'S REPORT: Lynn Steinmayer reviewed her report: (attached).

Lynn stated the library received the Picture America Grant. There are 20 posters with 40 images of various American images from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Lynn report listed the staff employees who did the various programs for the month. Motion to accept the report by Henrietta Horvay and seconded by Diana Bernard. Motion passed by all present.  Barney asked if the library was doing a project for Earth Day.  Lynn stated various activities in relation to the Day have been done.

 

PRESIDENT’S REPORT: Barney asked about the Children’s garden in back of the Goshen Center School.  It was stated that Robert Goldberg has been working with the children on this project.

Barney asked about an article in the newspaper of April 21 about solar panels in the Cheshire library.  Lynn stated there will be a solar power and panel discussion on April 27, 2009 in the Goshen Library. 

 

SECRETARY’S MINUTES: Motion to accept minutes of March 17, 2009 by Cathy Nygren seconded by Pat Reilly.  Motion passed by all present.

 

TREASURER’S REPORT:  Jeff Johnson’s  report for the month was reviewed. (attached)

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS: Diana Bernard asked about the Poetry.  Lynn will get together with the teacher.

 

OLD BUSINESS:  Wine tasting: Tickets are on sale in the Library. Only 50 tickets will be sold and flyers are available. 

 

ADJOURNMENT: Meeting adjourned at 3:25 P.M. Motion made by Henrietta Horvay and seconded by Cathy Nygren.  Motion passed by all present.
