Minutes of Board of Directors Meeting
June 16, 2009
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 2:29 P.M.
PRESENT: Barney Laschever, Jeff Johnson, Diana Bernard, Lynn Steinmayer, Henrietta Horvay, and Cathy Nygren.
EXCUSED: Pat Reilly
SECRETARY’S MINUTES: Motion to accept minutes of May 19, 2009 by Cathy Nygren seconded by Jeff Johnson. Motion passed by all present.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT Barney asked if Lynn contacted White Memorial about astronomy? Lynn will call them and get information. Barney spoke about other town libraries that have astronomy as the theme. Barney will purchase some DVD’s about astronomy and have the directors review them.
Diane Bernard stated the concert will be July 17th and rain date of July 24th. It will be a combined concert and picnic. Hope all will attend
Goshen military was discussed. Henrietta is working on getting a list of them. Books will be sent only to the Goshen residents. Henrietta will report back at the next meeting.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT: Lynn Steinmayer reviewed her report (attached). Discussion followed on statistic report. Lynn was asked to show old statistics and new statistics stating on top of columns year and month. Lynn will add more details to the report. Motion to accept the report by Henrietta Horvay and seconded by Cathy Nygren. Motion passed by all present.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Jeff Johnson submitted his report for the month.(attached). Jeff discussed the various accounts.
NEW BUSINESS: Need to post signs about library hours changes. Will post signs in Post Office, First National Bank of Litchfield and the Town Hall Community board.
New computer was discussed. Motion made by Jeff Johnson and seconded by Diane Bernard to purchase one new computer from The PC Wizard. Fund to purchase will come out of the Capital and Non-recur ring account. Motion passed by all present.
OLD BUSINESS: Cathy Nygren spoke about the location of the sign. Cathy has been checking out the real-estate purchases of newcomers to town. Lynn has been mailing the library packet to them.
ADJOURNMENT: Meeting adjourned at 3:34 P.M. Motion made by Jeff Johnson and seconded by Diane Bernard. Motion passed by all present.
