Minutes of Board of Directors Regular Meeting
March 8, 2010
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 4:00 P.M. By President Jeff Johnson.
PRESENT: Jeff Johnson, Lynn Steinmayer, Henrietta Horvay, Pat Reilly, and Lucia Miller
Excused: Cathy Nygren
SECRETARY’S MINUTES: Motion to accept minutes of February 8, 2010 by Henrietta Horvay and seconded by Pat Reilly. Motion passed by all present.
Diana Bernard arrived at 4:04 p.m..
MATTERS ARISING FROM MINUTES: Lynn was asked if she sent the letter to Goshen Center School teachers. Lynn stated she has not sent the letter as yet, but would be sending with a whole source of library items to them..
CORRESPONDENCE: None
DIRECTOR'S REPORT: Lynn Steinmayer reviewed her report (attached). She reported the cancellation of some programs and low attendance due to weather conditions in February.
TREASURER REPORT: Assistant Treasurer Pat Reilly gave the report. Pat reviewed the report to the board. The monthly budget was reviewed. (Report Attached).
PRESIDENT'S REPORT: None
OLD BUSINESS:
Kindle: Kindle borrowing agreement was reviewed. With a few changes a motion was made by Henrietta Horvay and seconded by Pat Reilly to use the agreement. Motion passed by all present.
May Wine Tasting: Jeff Johnson spoke about the wine tasting. It will be May 15 at the Sunset Vineyards at 5:30 P.M. until and the cost will be $15.00 per ticket.
Proposed 2010-2011 Budget: The proposed budget was reviewed by the board. Pat Reilly discussed various line items. Stated a decrease in the budget from last year. Motion made to approve the 2010-2011 budget by Lucia Miller and seconded by Henrietta Horvay. Motion passed by all present.
Proposed Capital Budget: Pat Reilly presented the capital budget. Discussion followed. Motion by Henrietta Horvay and seconded by Pat Reilly to approve four items on the capital budget. Motion passed by all present.
By-Laws Review: Jeff has a few suggested changes. Review will be discussed when Henrietta returns.
Snap-Shot Day: Lynn reported there was no program due to a snow day and no pictures where taken. Same problem with other libraries in the area.
Publicity: Jeff reviewed status of reporting to various newspapers and news media.
Physical Plant report of the Library: Pat Reilly and Lynn Steinmayer sent the board a letter. A motion was made by Henrietta Horvay and seconded by Diana Bernard to accept the letter. Motion passed by all present.

New Business: Summer Reading Program Lynn stated Mrs. Buckley has not made a decision on the topic as yet for the program.
Grants: Jeff asked Lynn about the Heritage Grant from the CT Foundation of NW. Lynn stated she filed a grant form for specific Programs requested funds of $3,200.
New Dates for May and June Meetings:
Motion made by Pat Reilly and seconded by Lucia Miller to have the first Mondays: May 3 and June 7 for the regular meetings dates at 4:00 p.m. for these two months only. Motion passed by all present.
Motion to adjourn at 5:31 p.m. by Henrietta Horvay and seconded by Diana Bernard. Motion passed by all present.
Next Meeting will be a regular meeting on MONDAY
