Goshen Safety Committee Quarterly Meeting
April 28, 2011
Town Office Conference Room
Present: Kate Breakell, Dale Ives, Christopher Mitchell, Edward Perry and Bob Valentine. Sam Anstett was excused due to a medical appointment.
Call to Order- Chairman Mitchell called the meeting to order at 2:35 pm.
Approval of the Minutes- Kate moved and Edward seconded that the minutes of the November 15th meeting be approved as read. Motion carried.
Old Business:
Library Accident Claim- Bob reported that he believes that CIRMA case is still pending.
Front Door at Library- Bob stated that the winter weather hampered dealing with that issue but that money is still available to remedy the problem.
Lines in the Parking Lot at Camp Coch- First Selectman observed that the claim that the lines are faint is specious at best.
New Business:
Dog Bite- Edward reported that a Public Works employee had been bitten while working on a road project. The Dog Warden was called and the animal, which had a bad record, was euthanized. It was tested for Rabies and the test was negative. The worker had no lasting injury.
Snow Storm Shoveling of Roof after a heavy storm this winter, the Public Works garage roof was shoveled to avoid a potential collapse.
Chain Saw Safety Classes- Edward told the committee that CIRMA will be running this class soon and Public Works will send their employees.
Bloodborne Pathogens Plan Update- Dale reminded Bob that prior to camp, the selectmen will need to peruse and re-date the Camp Coch Bloodborne plan.
Worker’s Compensation Cases- there were none in any department except the Public Works dog bite case.
Adjournment: Bob moved and Edward seconded that the meeting be adjourned at 2:41pm. Motion carried.
Respectfully submitted
Dale W. Ives
