Monday, February 23, 2009

 

First Selectmen Robert P. Valentine called the meeting to order at 8:15 p.m.

 

Robert P. Valentine opened the nominations for moderator. Nanci Howard nominated Robert P. Valentine for moderator, seconded James F Johnson IV. Cathy Nygren closed the nominations seconded by Kate Breakell.

 

Moderator, Robert P. Valentine asked Alice DuVal to read the call of the meeting.

 

1. Rescinding the ordinance entitled Driveway Ordinance adopted on May 26, 1999, as amended on May 29, 2002, and adopting a revised Driveway Ordinance.

 

Robert Valentine addressed the ordinance stating revisions to the old ordinance were made based on current engineering standards. The new regulations include revisions to the 50 foot site line and a refundable cash permit fee amongst others.

 

Kate Breakell made a motion to rescind the ordinance entitled Driveway Ordinance adopted on May 26, 1999 as amended on May 29, 2002 and adopt a revised Driveway Ordinance; seconded by Nanci Howard. Passed unanimously.

 

2 Upon the recommendation of the Board of Finance, to take such action as the voters deem best with respect to the appropriation of $21,815.54 from the library expendable trust fund to the capital and non-recurring fund for general library purposes.

 

James F. Johnson IV moved to accept the recommendation of the Board of Finance; seconded by Cathy Nygren. Passed unanimously.

 

3 Enactment of an ordinance entitled “Ordinance Establishing Delinquent Motor Vehicle Tax Fee.”

 

Robert Valentine stated that a $1.00 fee for delinquent motor vehicle tax bills will be collected by the Town of Goshen Tax Collector to offset charges now being imposed by the DMV.

 

Cathy Nygren moved to adopt the ordinance; seconded by James F. Johnson IV. Passed unanimously.

 

James F. Johnson IV made a motion to adjourn at 8:20 p.m.; seconded by Kate Breakell.
