GOSHEN LEGAL NOTICE

A certified list of 28 Republican party-endorsed candidates for the town of Goshen for election as Members of the Town Committee At Large is on file in my office at 42 North Street, Goshen, Connecticut and copies are available for public distribution. The number of Town Committee Members to be elected, under party rules, is 30.

A Primary will be held March 6, 2012, if 8 candidacies ( which is at least 25% of the number of town committee members to be elected by such party in the municipality) are filed in accordance with §§9-382 to 9-450, inclusive, of the General Statutes, by persons other than party-endorsed candidates, not later than 4:00 p.m. of February 1, 2012, provided the number of such candidacies plus the number of endorsed candidates, exceeds the number of town committee members to be elected. (If the number of opposing candidacies filed is reduced to less than such 25%, no primary will be held.) Petition forms, instructions and information concerning the procedure for filing opposing candidacies, may be obtained from Susan Breakell, Republican Registrar of Voters, 42 North Street, Goshen, Connecticut.

The number of Town Committee Members to be elected, under party rules, is 21.

TAX COLLECTOR’S NOTICE
Pursuant to Sec. 12-145 of the Connecticut statutes, the undersigned Tax
Collector of the Town of Goshen gives notice that she will be ready to
receive Supplemental Motor Vehicle taxes and the second installment of
Real Estate & Personal Property taxes due January 1, 2012 at the Tax
Collector’s office in the Town Hall of Goshen on Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 9-12 NOON. Extra hours will be on Wednesday, February 1, 2012
from 2-4 PM. Payments must be received or postmarked by Wednesday,
February 1, 2012 to avoid interest.
All taxes remaining unpaid after February 1, 2012 will be charged interest
from January 1, 2012 at the rate of 1.5% for each month elapsing from the
due date of the delinquent tax to the date of payment, with a minimum
interest charge of $2.00. Sec. 12-146
Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve the taxpayer of his/her
responsibility for the payment of taxes or delinquent charges. Sec. 12-130

TOWN OF GOSHEN

November 8, 2011, Municipal Election

The Electors of the Town of Goshen are hereby warned to meet at their respective polling place in said Town of Tuesday, November 8, 2011, for the following purpose:

        To cast their votes for First Selectman, Selectmen, Town Clerk, Town Treasurer, Board of Finance, Board of Assessment Appeals, Planning and Zoning Commission, Planning and Zoning Commission Alternates, Fire Commissioners, Constables, Library Directors

Notice is hereby given that the polling place is as follows:

        Camp Cochipanee, 291 Beach Street

Voting machines will be used. The polls will be opened at six o’clock in the morning (6:00 a.m.) and will remain open until eight o’clock in the evening (8:00 p.m.)

TOWN OF GOSHEN

The Town of Goshen will accept bids for Revaluation of all Real Estate effective for the Grand List of October 1, 2012 in accordance with the Town specifications.

Specifications and bid documents are available on the Town’s website at www.goshenct.gov or by request at the Fiscal Office, Goshen Town Hall, 42A North Street, Goshen, CT  06756.

Sealed bids for said local revaluation will be accepted at the Office of the First Selectman, Goshen Town Hall,  42A North Street, Goshen, CT  06756 no later than 4:00 PM on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at which time bids will be opened and read.

The Town of Goshen reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive minor irregularities in the bidding, and to select other than the lowest bid if deemed in the best interest of the Town.
