Town of Goshen Zoning Board of Appeals

Meeting Minutes for Thursday April 16, 2009 @ 7:30 PM

Goshen Town Hall Conference, 42 North Street

 

 

  1. CALL TO ORDER: Gail Lavoie (Chairman), Amanda Cannon, Ralph Day, Bernie Harrington (alt.), Daniel Koblenski (alt). Absent Donald Moore, Jeff Johnson.

  3. NEW BUSINESS
  1. William G. Colby for Dr. Howard Pease, 399 Milton Road, 50 foot shoreline setback variance from Section 3.74b for an accessory structure, deck.  Mr. Colby was present on behalf of Dr. Pease to discuss the plans with the Board.   Mr. Colby Explained that they are asking for a 50 foot Shoreline Setback Variance from section 3.74b for a deck which will go right up to the water.   The land has steep slopes and without the use of the proposed stairs and deck the owners would not have use of the water.  Mr. Colby informed the Board that this is an after-the-fact application and that the work had already been done.

IN A MOTION made by Ms. Cannon seconded by Mr. Koblenski it was voted to ACCEPT the application for William G. Colby for Dr. Howard Pease, 399 Milton Road, 50 foot shoreline setback variance from Section 3.74b for an accessory structure, deck and to SET A PUBLIC HEARING for May 21, 2009. Vote Unanimous

 

  1. READING OF THE MINUTES: The Commission received a copy of the minutes prior to the meeting for review

IN A MOTION made by Ms. Cannon seconded by Mr. Koblenski it was voted to APPROVE the minutes of November 15, 2007 and December 20, 2007.  Vote Unanimous

 

  1. CORRESPONDENCE – CT Federation of Planning Agencies – Quarterly newsletter

IN A MOTION made by Ms. Cannon  seconded by Mr. Koblenski it was voted to APPROVE the 2009 Regular Meeting Schedule.   Vote Unanimous.

 

  1. ADJOURN
 

IN A MOTION made by Ms. Cannon seconded by Mr. Koblenski it was voted to ADJOURN the meeting at 7:50PM
