Goshen’s 2017 Revaluation Notices Mailed

November 22, 2017

The Assessor’s Office is in the process of completing a revaluation of all Real Estate in the Town of Goshen for the October 1, 2017 Grand List. New values have been determined and each property owner has been mailed an individual notice of their new assessment.

Do not apply the current mill rate to your new assessment.  A new mill rate will be set by the Board of Finance with the adoption of the 2018/2019 budget in the spring of 2018.

You may view your assessment data on the Vision Government Solutions web sitewww.vgsi.com.  This web site will allow inquiry access to the Assessor’s database, including value summary, property data, and general revaluation information. Property information is also available in the Goshen Assessor’s Office.

If you wish to review your new assessment with a representative of Vision Government Solutions, you may do so by scheduling an appointment. Informal hearings will be held in early December at the Goshen Town Hall, 42 North Street by appointment only.

To schedule an appointment, please go to: www.vgsi.com/schedules  and follow the instructions, or call Vision Government Solutions at 1-888-844-4300 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday-Friday.

Please book your appointment ASAP but no later than December 3, 2017.

If you wish to appeal your assessment after the informal hearing process with Vision Government Solutions is complete, you must file a written appeal to the Board of Assessment Appeals on the prescribed Board of Assessment Appeals form on or before February 20, 2018. The forms will be available on February 1, 2018 from the Assessor’s Office in the Goshen Town Hall. By state statute, an appeal can be heard only if the written request has been submitted on the prescribed appeal form to the Goshen Board of Assessment Appeals by February 20, 2018.
