MILTON ROAD – PAVEMENT PROJECT

State project # 054-086

GOSHEN, CONNECTICUT - the Town of Goshen has proposed a project for the milling and paving of a section of Milton Road, beginning at the intersection of Shear Shop Road and running northerly for approximately 2700’.  The project is in the concept stage and may be recommended for construction under the Surface Transportation Program administered by the Connecticut Department of Transportation. This project, if supported by the community and Town officials, will be designed by the Town.

It is the Town's and the State's policy to keep persons informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community share its concerns to assist in the projects' development.

It is planned to make road base improvements as required and reclaim the existing asphalt in place.  The road base will be regraded and compacted prior to paving with two 2” layers of hot mix asphalt. Other minor incidental project work will take place.

Based upon preliminary assessment, the construction cost will be approximately $625,000. It is anticipated that the project will be funded through the STP Rural Program in which the Town will be reimbursed by the Federal Highway Administration for 80% of the construction cost, and by the State for 10% of the construction cost. The remaining 10% will be provided by the Town.

Anyone interested in obtaining further information or providing input may do so by contacting Robert P. Valentine, First Selectman at 1stselectman@goshenct.gov or by calling 860-491-2308 x.221 or by mail: 42A North Street, Goshen, CT 06756  by September 29th, 2017
