Marriage licenses must be obtained either in the town where the marriage ceremony is to take place or the town of residence for the Bride or Groom. The marriage ceremony must be performed within 65 days from the date of issuance.
Certified copies of the vital events (birth, marriage, death) that occurred in Goshen or to residents of the town are available from the Town Clerk. Information pertaining to vital events and genealogy go back to the year 1737. There is a time frame from 1770 to 1820 where a lot of the records were destroyed.

Date of marriage, and location The name, address, and telephone number of the person performing the ceremony for you Your parent's names (mother's maiden name) and place of your birth and your parents birth. A civil union license is required of any couple getting married in Goshen. The cost is $30.00. You must get your Civil Union License from the Town in which you are uniting in or from the town in Connecticut where either party resides.
