How do I get a Tradename?
You may obtain a tradename certificate in the downloadable forms. Please note that the tradename certificate must first go through the Zoning Enforcement Officer before filing with the Town Clerk.

How can I get a copy of my deed?
The easiest way to obtain a copy of your deed is contact the Assessor with your address and ask them for a volume and page. Then you can come into the Town Clerk's Office with the information or send a self-addressed stamped envelope with your request with the volume and page along with the appropriate copy fee ($1.00 per page).
How can I get a copy of a map?
You may come in and search for a map. It may not be in your name you may have to try prior owners names. Maps are not filed by street location for surveys. The Assessors Office has property maps.
How can I obtain a copy of a plot plan?
A plot plan may be filed in the Zoning Office, Building Office or Torrington Area Health.

Where are the flood maps?
The flood maps are in the Town Clerk's vault. You may come and and get a copy or look at them.

The current population is estimated at 3009 people.
How do I register to Vote?
When you change your registration at the Department of Motor Vehicles you may obtain a form or you may download a form off of the Secretary of the States website. You may also come to Town Hall and register with the Registrar of Voters or the Town Clerk if the Registrar of Voters is unavailable.
Do you provide a notary service?
Yes we do provide a notary as long as the records are not being recorded on the Goshen Land Records. We do not always have the staffing for witnesses. Banks provide notary service as well.
