This department strives to provide a wide variety of activities for residents of all ages for all seasons. Residents may choose from programs such as soccer, archery, field hockey, pottery workshops, karate, kickboxing, T-ball, basketball, and skiing for children, and yoga, exercise classes, and basketball for adults. As well as many Senior Citizen programs. In addition the department sponsors a free Senior Citizen’s Picnic, Easter Egg Hunt, Winter Fun Day, Halloween Party and summer concerts.
This extremely active department also runs an affordable six-week summer day camp for children ages 3-12 at the town-owned facility called Camp Cochipianee on Beach Street. Camp Cochipianee is a 57-acre facility, which has a running/walking track, swimming area, soccer field, baseball diamond, picnic areas, trails, horseshoe pit, and bocce court.
