First Selectman

The First Selectman is the Chief Executive Officer of the Town of Goshen and as such plans, organizes, administers, directs and coordinates the administrative activities of the Town in accordance with local laws, ordinances, State Statues and policies of the Board of Selectmen.  The First Selectman oversees all departmental activities and acts as a liaison for the departments with the Board of Finance.  The Selectmen's office issues burning permits, special event permits, hiking trail permits, pistol permits.   Because of the size of Goshen, the First Selectman also acts in an administrative capacity as the Chief of Police, the Personnel Officer, and the Risk Control Manager.  The Board of Selectmen act together to make decisions in the best interests of all the townspeople.  The Board of Selectmen is responsible for making policy for the Town and the enforcement of Town Ordinances.   The three Selectmen meet every Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Town Hall.  Everyone is invited to attend to keep abreast of the management of the Town.
