The Town of Goshen has a very long storied history. First chronicled by Reverend A.G. Hibbard in 1897 with the help of Deacon Lewis Mills Norton’s investigations and records, many of which came from children of the first settlers and solders of the Revolution. Much later, in 1989 the Goshen Quarternmillennial Committee formed for the celebration of Goshen’s 250th anniversary commissioned a new history of Goshen to bring up to date the Reverend A.G. Hibbard’s History of the Town of Goshen. This new works is titled “Goshen Connecticut a town above all others”. Both books are available at the Goshen Public Library and the Goshen Historical Society. Reverend A.G. Hibbard’s book is also made available on line by Cornell University Library
